In addition to the construction of offshore windfarms, The Port of Mostyn is now recognised as an ideal location from which to carry out operations and maintenance of windfarms located in the Irish Sea.

Both Vestas Wind Technology Ltd, and Siemens Wind Power A/S who operate the service bases for the North Hoyle and Rhyl Flats windfarms respectively, have recognised the benefits of servicing these windfarms from Mostyn.

The introduction of this new business sector is attracting ancillary businesses to the Port, such as Diving and sub-sea engineering, workboat providers, steel fabrication and engineering workshops.

The Port of Mostyn also has an experienced workforce on site for discharge and handling of components and onshore assembly work. Handling equipment includes:
