Business with the Port of Mostyn

The Port of Mostyn is a key construction and service base for the offshore renewable energy sector in the Irish Sea.  Because of its initial success as an O & M base for the North Hoyle and Rhyl Flats windfarms, RWE npower renewables have chosen the Port of Mostyn as its construction and maintenance base for their Gwynt y Mor windfarm.  The £1.76 bln investment in the Gwynt-y-Mor windfarm project is forecast to create over 150 jobs during construction and over 100 long-term skilled engineering O & M jobs for the 25 year operational life of the project.

Offshore renewable energy clients which used the Port of Mostyn include RWE Npower, EON Energy and Dong Energy. Siemens Wind Power A/S, Van Oord Offshore, Vestas Wind Technology.

More Information about wind farm constuction operations at the Port of Mostyn see Offshore Wind and News.

The Port is also home to the Airbus A380 wing transfer facility.

More Information about the Airbus A380 load-out  facility at Mostyn see Airbus A380.

One of the recent benefits of the windfarm business to the Port of Mostyn is the establishment of new ancillary businesses at the Port.  These include diving, subsea engineering, workboat providers, steel fabrication and engineering workshops.

Further development opportunities exist for businesses seeking to establish marine related activities within the Port area. To discuss development opportunities please contact our Managing Director Mr Jim O’Toole.
