The Port of Mostyn boasts an impressive track record in supporting the offshore wind industry, having played a key role in the construction of 7 wind farms and the installation of over 420 turbines in the Irish Sea, including the 160-turbine Gwynt y Mor project. We are also the Port of choice for O&M with RWE Renewables establishing their bases to service their Gwynt-y-Mor, North Hoyle and Rhyl Flats windfarms at Mostyn, each with their own service teams from either Siemens Gamesa or MHI Vestas.

  • Extensive Laydown and Storage: Benefit from 110 acres of secure, accessible laydown and storage land adjacent to 310m of riverside quays, featuring a design depth of -9m Chart Datum.
  • Heavy Lift Capabilities: Our quayside is equipped to handle the largest turbine components, with experience using cranes up to 1,300 tonnes for offloading and reloading foundation monopoles and other critical equipment.
  • Dedicated Support Services: We offer warehousing and workshop facilities for the safe storage of sensitive turbine parts and on-site final fitting.
  • Ideal for Jack-Up Vessels: The Port’s berths and seabed conditions are perfectly suited for safe berthing and loading of large jack-up vessels. We have a proven history of accommodating numerous vessels, including the ‘Excalibur’, ‘Jumping Jack’, ‘Lisa A’, ‘Resolution’, ‘Goliath’, ‘Kraken’, ‘Vagant’, and ‘Sea Worker’.
